Reports that the sale of tickets
for Lady Gaga artrave: ARTPOP ball tour is fighting are "ridiculous,"
according Athur Fogel, chairman of the division of Live Nation Global Touring,
producers of the tour. Ticket sales for North America & Europe are at 80
percent capacity sold, Fogel tells Billboard, even though the tour does not start
in America until May & Europe in the fall.
"The run with Lady Gaga
over the last 2 tours has been extremely winning & this one is shaping up
no in a different way," Fogel said; He adds that Live Nation will declare
an additional 6 Lady Gaga gigs in North America in the coming weeks (including
a 2nd in Los Angeles), as well as additional dates in the United Kingdom.,
including a 4th O2 show in London. Fogel said; the 29 concerts that are on sale
in North America have already grossed $26 million in ticket sales, which
averages out to a well every night take of nearly $900,000 per-concert.
Referring to published statements that Gaga's June show at the Marcus
Amphitheater in Milwaukee was "flopping," Fogel said, "When
something like Milwaukee particularly comes up, that show has sold 14,264
tickets, the gross is $961,000, & it is at the finish of June. I just do
not know how this shit obtains any traction without people doing their training."
